Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa were visiting their kids overnight.

When Grandpa found a bottle of Viagra in his son's medicine cabinet, he asked about using one of the pills.

The son said, "I don't think you should take one Dad; they're very strong and very expensive."

"How much?" asked Grandpa.

"$10.00 a pill," answered the son.

"I don't care," said Grandpa, "I'd still like to try one, and before we leave in the
morning, I'll put the money under the pillow."

Later the next morning, the son found $110 under the pillow. He called grandpa and said, "I told you each pill was $10, not $110.

"I know," said Grandpa. "The hundred is from grandma!"

'Charge High Seas Killer'

By Victor Thorn | American Free Press

As global awareness of Israeli terrorism continues to grow following the May 31 Mavi Marmara assault, an especially vocal critic is the Belgian-based Brussels Tribunal. On June 6, this writer interviewed a member of its executive committee, Dr. Ian Douglas. His words reflect the gravity of our current situation.

“Israel is seemingly unconcerned about committing murder in front of the eyes of the world,” said Douglas. Commenting specifically on their attack of a humanitarian aid ship in international waters, he said unabashedly: “This is not murder; it is destruction. There is a level of violence here that is sadistic and vengeful.”

Douglas next quoted an outspoken and acclaimed researcher in the field.

“Norman Finkelstein recently said that Israel is now a lunatic state with 300 nuclear warheads. He is right; and it is time, before the unimaginable occurs, that the world deals with this massive threat represented by Israel. A fitting analogy is Macbeth. Israel has so much blood on its hands that it sees phantoms everywhere, and can only go forward by more killing.”

When asked of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s deceptive claim that those aboard the Mavi Marmara were “violent supporters of terrorism,” Douglas responded, “Netanyahu is the violent supporter of terrorism, and an instigator of it: the terror of the Israeli state against the Palestinians. This flotilla was bringing wheelchairs, medical supplies and basic goods. It seems, for Netanyahu, it’s a terrorist act to help the disabled.”

The genesis of this situation began when high-level powerbrokers illegally seized land and created a rogue nation in 1948.

“Israel simply cannot face up to its own bloody origin,” said Douglas. “It is a settler state, founded in violence by individuals who came from outside Arab countries.”

The result has been a bona fide, centuries-long massacre against nearly everyone in the region. “Israel is no longer able to perpetuate this genocide against the Palestinian people, at least not without consequence,” he said. “Brave souls like those aboard the Mavi Marmara will continue their attempts to break Israel’s stranglehold over the Palestinians and expose their propaganda.”

When questioned about Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogen’s denunciation of Israel’s murderous deeds, Douglas furthered the notion: “Israel’s crimes are practically numberless. Decade upon decade, we see incident after incident.”

He then offered a solution: “The international community must cut all economic ties, all defense coordination and contracts, and all diplomatic, intellectual and cultural links with Israel until Zionism is recognized as racism. Until this happens, Israel continues to be the single biggest threat to world peace. The possibility of a better society will keep being suffocated by the black hole of Israel’s insistence on perpetuating injustice against the Palestinians.”

Douglas next addressed the Goldstone Report and the Mossad assassination of a Hamas leader in Dubai. “The overwhelming majority of the world’s population knows that Israel is a lunatic state that insists on racial and religious purity,” he said. “They are at war with all their neighbors, and practice brutality morning, noon and night.”

Of course, American leaders insist on blindly following and enabling Israel’s pathological bloodlust and reign of terror, despite global condemnation, he said. The key is energy and natural resources. “When America spends $200,000 a minute on oil, you can guess how important it is to keep the Arabs from realizing their geo-economic potential.”

He continued that thought: “Ultimately, it comes down to the internal system of power in the United States. It’s one built on the consumption of oil. If that system collapsed, how would America’s elite keep 300 million people in line? Consumption in the United States is a technology of government, and its currency is oil.”

Following the Mavi Marmara slaughter, Barack Obama’s tepid response was nearly identical to how Bush and Cheney would have reacted.

Douglas provides some invaluable insights here: “Washington has become indistinguishable from Tel Aviv, or vice versa. Obama is either unwilling, unable or doesn’t want to break free from that.”

Worse, Douglas fails to see any profound shift in our future foreign policy.

“I feel genuinely sorry for those who bought into the lies of hope and change,” he said. “Obama might be able to sell hope in America, but the Palestinians have no hope in Obama. He won’t help them, and never intended to.”

The Turning Point....?

Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swg-nFZS6so

British citizen Sarah Colborne’s eyewitness account on Mavi Marmara and ordeal as a ‘prisoner’. What happened in international waters on last May 31st can be considered as a wake up call to the world. 32 countries are involved in sending the humanitarian aid to Gaza and surely they will not simply keep quiet like Obama and his sitting duck gang.

The 31st May incident is a turning point for Israel’s act of severe & recurring act of state terrorism and blatant violation of international law with the US conspicuously failed to follow the rest of the world in condemning the regime. It seems Tel Aviv prefer to be out of sync with the rest of the world, and not just its enemies.

Is it ‘payback’ time dan Yahudi laknatullah akan mula menerima padah ke atas apa yang telah mereka lakukan selama ini?

While at this, have you ever wondered why the US still giving tons of financial aid and ammunitions to Israel until today even though Washington is also a victim of the regime’s terrorist attacks, starting with Lavon affair in the 1950s, attack on USS Liberty in 1967, Pollard Spy Case , etc, etc….

Writers

Many people hear voices when no-one is there.

Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day.

Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.

Scammed by Facebook Games?

Petikan dari majalah TIME Friday, Nov. 06, 2009

http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1935698,00.html?xid=rss-topstories

Facebook games — Mafia Wars, FarmVille, Restaurant City — have become surprisingly effective at diverting time wasters among the social-networking crowd. More than 63 million people alone play FarmVille. But now accusations have surfaced that the games can lead some more gullible players, including children, into Internet scams, especially if they have a cell phone.

Here's how it works. You join FarmVille, a game on Facebook in which you can create a virtual farm by growing crops and livestock and tilling the earth. Through your toil, you earn virtual money, but to farm more efficiently or quickly, you can also invest real cash (through PayPal or a credit card) to buy virtual goods, such as seed or a tractor. Should you not have any real cash to spare on things that after all do not actually exist, you can instead accept an offer from one of the advertisers on the game site and get virtual cash in return. (See the top 10 Internet blunders.)

These offers, generally known in the business as lead-gen (lead generators), will give you some seed/tractor money in return for signing up for, say, a subscription to Netflix or a credit card. But less scrupulous advertisers lure players in with an offer to take a bogus survey or IQ test. Once it's completed they require a cell-phone number to send you the results. When you enter your cell number and create a password, you have unwittingly subscribed to a service you never wanted but will be billed for. If you're a kid, the mysterious charge then appears on the phone bill of the parents, who often find that phone companies will not cancel services from a third-party provider — even if the parent cannot find out who that provider is.

College Professor

Each day an English college professor starts his class off with a dirty joke, usually derogatory towards women.

One day all the women in the class decide that the next time he does it, they're just going to get up and leave the class, in protest, without saying anything.

A male student overhears them planning this, and notifies the teacher. The professor opens the next class with, "Did you hear about the shortage of whores in Russia?"

And sure enough all the females get up and hurry to the door to leave.

The professor shouts, "Wait! The boat doesn't leave 'till Monday!"

Bad time management

It happened again and yesterday I had to be the keeper of the bus stop for a good 40 minutes. According to the stipulated schedule, there will be a bus going to the LRT station every 20 minutes during off peak hours. But then why there’s no bus for 40 minutes?

I can just take the taxi and gulped the fare difference of almost 10 times that can buy me a breakfast and lunch. But if I didn’t waste that 40 minutes, then I would not know about yesterday’s schedule efficiency. And if dragged to court, I can be the main witness to what happened.

I’m sure there was only one bus within that 40 odd minutes, instead of two if according to the schedule coz there’s a few passengers standing by the time the bus came out of the housing area and hit the highway and it’s not even during peak hours!

Why the service not according to it’s schedule? Bas rosak? Kalau macam tu nak jejaki sejarah Intrakota dengan bas yang kerap rosak coz of poor maintenance and not serviced periodically? Or maybe ada pemandu sakit? Or maybe ada girl friend pemandu sakit? Or maybe ada bakal mak mentua pemandu sakit? But then, are the people doing the roster really know what they are doing or main hentam asal ada roster? Do they apply the element of planning, backup and forecast while drafting the roster? What about the element of contingency?

Traffic jam? Jangan cakap la alasan basi tu coz semua orang tahu about it sejak zaman sebelum bas mini lagi. But yesterday it’s still belum peak hours. Maybe mood a few bus operation staff not peaking up as usual…?

Remember the main reason why most people shun the bus services mentioned in my earlier posting? Well, those decision makers are the culprits who still want us to waste precious time with their inefficient schedules. Now it is very terang lagi bersuluh that our LRT service is of first world and the support system, especially the buses, represents the third world. Don’t point fingers at me yet but do think about it…

I really enjoyed the bus services in the first world countries like Japan (even Hong Kong) and a few in Europe that I’ve been to. Maybe di sini dia orang nak berbangga coz our services are better off than our neighbours Indonesia, Thailand and some part of the Philippine (jeepney’s the main stay). But what about Singapore? What about Hong Kong? As mentioned in my earlier posting, Singapore and Hong Kong are the nearest to us with very good bus service we can learn from.

To me the general formula is simple: Come up with a good schedule and operation staff must stick strictly to the timings, without any compromise. The driving public will be interested once they know that time loss taking the buses has been reduced drastically. Attract more passengers with time efficiency, not with new buses or young female drivers.

Over a year ago they started with the day ticketing system and I was very happy about it. Not so much about the saving or what nots but that’s the system being used in most first world countries. Take for example the public transport system in Italy, the last country I’ve been in Europe. There, you just buy a day use ticket at any appointed shops/stores and you are free to take (as many trips on) the trams and buses and a single journey on the train and LRTs.

Well… That’s why I was happy coz it’s similar to the first world countries system but alas, it’s short lived. They reverted to the old zoning system a few months ago. Why? A little & cheeky bird told me that it was due to complaints and lousy politicking. That’s the power of vested party's complaints and politics in our country eh?

Read my posting about attitude? If you had, then link attitude and what I’ve rambled above. Malaysia Boleh right? And in a friend’s posting about universities (somboonc.blogspot.com), it’s very clear that a few universities in Thailand, Singapore, Philippines and even Indonesia are far off better than us. Too much of grey matter migrating to the knee caps? That’s the offshoot of our loose enforcement and attitude problems? Think about it…

Enforcement and attitude problem

Persoalan lazim dan basi timbul lagi pada sidang teh tarik last weekend. Entah dah berapa kali I kena ulang my opinion untuk persoalan itu. Itulah jawapan mudah mengenai masalah kita.

Enforcement

Lihat sajalah what happens when there’s weakness in enforcing dengan tegas segala apa undang-undang dan perkara yang sewaktu dengannya.

Mengapa?

Masuk ke kedai saja, 85% chances are you will be greeted by a non-Malaysian shop assistant & about 50% chances they don’t have proper documents. Why?

Tanyalah sendiri pekerja asing yang kena tahan tanpa dokumen the way they came in. Well, I’ve done that a few times and their answer boils down to enforcement.

Jawapannya for sure yes but, to me, dengan peratusan yang rendah kerana tidak boleh lagi mengatasi the argument of not wasting time using public transport due to its inefficiency.

Mengapa? Well…

Bukan sekali dua but hampir once setiap minggu.

Dah tahu traffic jam, apa yang telah dilakukan to compensate the time loss? Bas tak cukup? Pemandu tak cukup? Planning lemah?

Paparan itu bukannya di stesen bas but at the bus stop di tepi jalan. If tertulis the next bus akan tiba at 3.23pm di depan my training centre, memang dijamin bas itu akan tiba tepat pada waktunya. Jika awal seminit dua, bas akan berhenti hingga 3.23pm sebelum meneruskan perjalanan. Why?

Pokok persoalan is our public transport system still membuang banyak masa penumpang.

What say you?
